“Kimberly, Andres and Anthony were unreal. You do not get service, professionalism, and politeness, Like this anymore. I cannot rave enough about the positive experience we had getting our water heater replaced. Within 24 hours of knowing that my water heater was leaking all over my garage it was fixed and handled.”
“Tropical Plumbing is simply the best. From the owners, office staff and technicians, Tropical Plumbing provides outstanding service. They responded quickly with professionalism and were sure to give us spot on diagnosis and repair. They first came to diagnose our problem (broken pipe and leaky hot water heater), parts were ordered and they were finished the next day. They had a well maintained truck and proper tools.…”
We book same-day when we can get to you, and the next available slot when we can't. Call and we will tell you honestly where you sit in the day rather than leaving you waiting on a maybe.
It usually comes down to age and what failed. A thermostat, element, or valve on a unit under about eight years old is normally worth repairing. A tank leaking from the body, or a unit past ten to twelve years needing a significant part, is usually better replaced. A technician will give you both numbers and let you decide.
Tank heaters commonly last eight to twelve years, and tankless units longer. Local water conditions affect that, which is why flushing the tank matters more here than in softer-water regions.
Rumbling and popping usually means sediment has built up on the bottom of the tank and water is boiling underneath it. It is not typically an emergency, but it makes the heater work harder and shortens its life, so it is worth getting flushed or inspected.
Tankless units save space, do not run out of hot water, and generally last longer. They cost more up front and may need gas line or electrical changes at installation. We will tell you honestly whether your home is a straightforward conversion or an expensive one.
Shut off the water supply to the heater at the valve on the cold inlet, and shut off power at the breaker for an electric unit or the gas valve for a gas unit. Then call us. Do not keep using it.
We stand behind our workmanship with a one-year labor warranty. Warranties on equipment and materials follow the manufacturer's coverage. If you have a question about work we did, call the office.
Yes. When an estimate is over $1,000, we can send a financing option along with it. Ask the office about it.
