Bonita Springs is a straight run south down I-75 from our Fort Myers shop, and we work there regularly. One recent job was a main sewer backing up into a single-family home. We found the outside cleanout, snaked the line clear and checked it on camera to be sure. Another was a tankless water heater, where we fitted service valves and flushed the unit to descale it.

- Water from a member-owned co-op
- Bonita Springs Utilities, a member-owned, not-for-profit cooperative, supplies water and sewer service in the city. Its water is a blend of lime-softened water from shallow wells and reverse-osmosis water from deeper, brackish wells. A corrosion inhibitor is added to help protect household plumbing.
- Septic is giving way to sewer
- BSU has been replacing septic tanks with central sewer since it began a gravity sewer expansion in 1995. A grant-funded neighborhood project has home connections scheduled from May to November 2026, made by BSU's own contractors. Once sewer is available, state law and city ordinance require homes to connect within one year.
- The Imperial River floods
- National Weather Service flood notes for the Imperial River gauge put water inside nearby homes once the river reaches 12 feet, and list over 1,000 homes affected at 14.5 feet. After high water, a slow drain or a backup is worth a call before it gets worse.
