What this work addresses

  • A backflow test notice from your water utility
  • A backflow preventer that failed its test
  • A leaking or damaged device
  • A new irrigation system or connection that needs a backflow preventer
  • A condominium or commercial device that is due for its scheduled test

What's included

  • Backflow testing and certification
  • Repair of existing backflow preventers
  • Backflow preventer rebuilds
  • New backflow preventer installation
  • Replacing failed devices, including larger devices serving condominium associations and commercial properties
  • Repairing the piping around a device when it is part of the problem

What we don't do

  • Your water utility or local code sets how often a device must be tested. We test to that schedule; we do not set it.
  • The water meter and the utility's side of the connection belong to the water utility.
  • Final scope and pricing are confirmed after a technician sees the device.

From the first call to the next step

  1. Tell us whether this is a routine test, a failed test, or a new installation.
  2. A technician tests or inspects the device.
  3. If it fails, you get the repair, rebuild or replacement options and what each costs.
  4. Approved work is completed and the device is tested.

Where we work

Common questions

How often does a backflow preventer need testing?

Your water utility or local code sets the schedule, so check the notice you received. If you are not sure what is required, call and we will help you work it out.

Do you work on condominium and commercial backflow devices?

Yes. We test, repair, rebuild and replace backflow devices for homes, condominium associations and commercial properties.

What does a backflow preventer do?

It stops water on your property from flowing back into the public water supply. That is why utilities require the device and why it has to be tested.

What happens if my device fails its test?

We tell you why it failed and what the options are: a repair, a rebuild, or a replacement. Once the approved work is done, the device is tested again.

Can a failed backflow preventer be rebuilt instead of replaced?

Often, yes. We rebuild backflow preventers as well as replacing them. Which one makes sense depends on the condition of the device, and we will say which before any work starts.
